As I am writing this the weather outside is awful!! It’s wet and misty and cold. Luckily for Emma & Marc, the weather was fine for their wedding day. I seem to have had a run of good luck recently with fine days for my weddings! Emma and Marc were married at St Cuthbert’s church in Bedlington Northumberland ( directly opposite my studio). I love this old church as its spacious and light and has a very friendly Irish priest. It is during the ceremony I really feel that having two photographers pays off. As I was outside with Emma and the bridal party waiting to photograph her walking down the aisle, Mark my second photographer was waiting at the alter with the groom Marc, photographing Emma the bride coming down the aisle. Documentary photography captures these moments and it’s usually these photographs that are appreciated so much by brides and grooms.
Once the ceremony was over it was off to Close House hotel in the Tyne valley. Close House is set in the most wonderful of locations, with fantastic views over the Tyne valley. After getting the formal family photographs out of the way we had a nice relaxed walk around the grounds, having fun capturing and creating Emma and Marc’s images.
I have chosen to show some black & white documentary images ( they tell more of a story) and some semi posed bride & groom photos. These are some of my favourites from their day.

Nice series, I really like the B&W post processing! –Robert
Love the wedding photographs in front of the building! We don’t have many old buildings like that in San Francisco. Good job on these wedding photos!!
Very timeless and classy photography, Gordon. Well done.
