A. Absolutely not! I merely offer great advice and assist in whatever way is appropriate and desired by you. I am are always mindful that this is YOUR SPECIAL DAY and you are the boss. Contrary to some photographers, I hold to the belief that this is your Wedding Day, not a “photo op day”.
Q. How long after the wedding does it take to get our proofs, photo CD’s, DVD slide shows or photo books?

A. You do. Though I will point you in the right direction and make suggestions to ensure the perfect album.

A. I require a non-refundable retainer of 40% to reserve your date. This confirms the date for you. The final balance is due at least 30 days prior to the wedding. Of course, paying in advance of the due date is always acceptable.
Q. My Uncle likes photography; will you allow him to take pictures at my wedding?
A.Of course, your uncle is welcome to take pictures. Normally we do not mind if a few guests or relatives shoot over our shoulders. Indeed, some photographers would not allow this at all. However, there are some things to consider. With several people shooting from several different directions, the larger groups do not know where to look, resulting in pictures of people looking in different directions. The only type of photographer we do not allow is another professional or anyone photographing your event with the intent of selling pictures either in digital or printed format.
Q. What kind of pictures do you take?
A. Documentary pictures, but i also do some naturally staged portraits of the bride & groom and group photos, though we do limit the number of group images so as not to take up too much of the day with this style of picture.
Q. What about pictures at different locations?
A. if you have a specific location in mind then we would love nothing more than to photograph you there! Having time away from the wedding guests often produces some of the best images of the day.
Q. Why hire a wedding photographer? Can’t Uncle Bob take pictures?
A. Producing quality wedding photos is very difficult. Weddings are fast moving, dynamic events and experience is a must…if you want good photographs. The photographer has to deal with a multitude of different environments and lighting situations.Your wedding photos are one of the few things that will last for years to come after the wedding. The food will be eaten, the wedding dress hangs in the closet, and the flowers have long since wilted. But the photos can bring back the memories of your special day for a lifetime.
Uncle Bob could take your photos, but he probably doesn’t photograph weddings very often and is unlikely to have the equipment needed for the special lighting conditions found at the church and reception.
Q. What is the best way to reserve Gordon Mackinnon for my wedding?
A. Please call me on 01670 825698 or email to check for availability. My policy is this: the first retainer we accept will reserve the date and time. Popular days (like Saturday) go quickly, so promptness is important.
